The medical assistant works at both clinic locations and plays a crucial role in supporting the surgeons and nurse practitioners. They are responsible for providing direct patient care under the guidance of the providers, as well as facilitating communication between patients, providers, and external services to ensure coordinated care. Key responsibilities include assigning patient rooms, obtaining patient history, screening and documenting updated medical/surgical history and medications and taking necessary vitals.
